Nothing particular to post today. Just some random photos of my two furkids being complete and utterly useless and lazy bums.

Simple pleasures

Thanks to a good friend and fellow scrappy chick I was quickly reminded that I have totally neglected my blog. So thanks Christina for the reminder. I must say after taking a blogger hiatus I am hoping to get back into the swing of things. So take a seat, grab your favorite beverage and read away.

One of the many blessings I have is being able to stay at home for my children. I can't say enough how awesome it is to be able to take advantage of being a stay-at-home (SAH) mom because I know there are so many moms out there that would do anything just to have one day off with their children. Is life just peachy because I don't have to work.. NO. In fact, some days can be challenging and other days I crave adult interaction. But all in all, it is a blessing and I thank my Heavenly Father that my sweet and precious husband works hard so that I do not have to. On a crazy day, Megan is at school and I am busy keeping Caleb entertained while doing the laundry, scrubbing appliances and toilets, and everything in between. On a slow day I can grab the camera and capture some of the simple pleasures. Mother/son time.

Newest addition

Our daughter Megan had been begging me for years to let her have a pet of some sort. Now when you tell a 5 year old that they can have a pet in a few years they will NEVER forget. It's funny how they forget what they did at school that day or what they learned in their Sunday School class but make them a promise to buy a pet for them years later never seems to escape their memory. So for the 973rd time Megan asked me if she could have a pet hamster. After discussing everything with my honey I reluctantly agreed to allow Megan to have a small pet. The very next day we were off to PetSmart to purchase her new pet. I cannot begin to describe the excitement Megan felt just driving to the pet store. She worked my ear to the inner canal telling me what a good hamster mom she would be, asking me all sorts of questions and pondering on what the pet's name should be. It was a true delight to see her joy. As soon as we got home Megan wanted to take some pictures of her new pet hamster. A dwarf Russian hamster named Whiskers!

New Season

As summer's end slowly approached I welcomed the fall season with open arms. Fall is after all my absolute favorite time of year. The weather is changing, nature tranforms into a vibrant array of warm hues and the days get shorter and shorter. I love this time of year. It's a season of transition. Along with the coming of the new season comes a brand new school year. Yay!! It was back to school for Megan as she began the 3rd grade in a brand new school. Megan is now a Union Wildcat! We are so proud of her. Here are some shots of her 1st day of school.

Blooming Days

Just as soon as we were able to catch our breath from moving we had to get right to work sprucing up the place and one of the first things that beckoned our attention was the very neglected flower bed in front of the house. The pine straw was old and everything was overgrown and littered with weeds. Needless to say it was begging for some TLC. We worked VERY hard over the course of three weekends to totally redo our bed. We relocated bushes, took out old and dead shrubs, planted new gardenias, impatiens and petunias and also laid out all new mulch. Oh and we laid out some concrete edging. With a little help from my mother-in-law and father-in-law we were able to complete the bed. It was hard work but in the end it was worth it. Here are a few pics of the finished product. Although it doesn't look grand just yet... it will.
