Happy Easter

In celebration of the Easter holiday weekend our family got together Sunday afternoon for a wonderful cookout and egg hunt for the kids. Easter morning began with our worship services at church to celebrate the resurrection of Lord & Savior. What a beautiful day to rejoice in Jesus. To celebrate the day we were off to Burnt Hickory Baptist church for worship services and then off to my in-laws for some good food, good fellowship and of course... the Easter egg hunt for the kids. Good food, sunshine, pleasant weather, fun with the kids and quality family time made for the perfect day.

My boys working in the yard

Over the past 11 months (since moving into our new home) we have been slowly working on improving our backyard and making it more family friendly. Presently we own about an acre of land but half of the land was wooded in the back. Trying to preserve the woods yet expanding our backyard has been a challenge. First because everything costs mega $$$ and second it's just nearly impossible to do everything at once. But with some time, patience and perseverance we are really starting to see some results. Most recently we plowed more trees and bushes, filled in the low lying areas with top soil, smoothed everything out and planted some grass seeds. Just before we planted the seeds, Walter and his parents worked hard to try and get up all the rocks and roots still present. On this day I caught my boys working hard on Pawpaw's brand new riding lawn mower. Caleb's new favorite thing! Can I just say that Pawpaw's lawnmower has become Caleb's OBSESSION!!

New Do!

For months and months I had pondered on the idea of cutting all my hair off. For those that know me know that I do not cut my hair all that often and have only had my hair short just three times in my WHOLE life. But I decided to just go for it. Once in the salon I totally chickened out and did not get the cut I wanted but I do love the cut Blake did for me over @ Evan Blake Salon in Dallas, GA. Now I just wish I could style it exactly the way he did it.

Mommy & Son Date Night

One evening as Megan was out of town visiting family in Alabama, I decided to have a mommy & son date night. Since it was of course my treat I let him choose the place we would dine and spend quality time together. Of course with a 3 year old, his first choice was the infamous Chuck-E-Cheese! I can honestly say as crazy as that place can be, it was nice to have a fun evening for just the two of us.
